SOLD: Gungnir Multibit and mjolnir2

I really don't want to do this, but my life has shifted as have my use cases. Also daycare is stupidly expensive. Alas and alack, I must diminish and go west for a bit.

Shipping might take a few days depending on when I get payment since these are at my office and I am home with a newborn. All in original boxes, with original equipment and manuals. I keep my shit (and schiit) in excellent condition. No smoking, no pets.

Gungnir Multibit: I am first and only owner. I bought when it was normal gungnir with 2d gen usb. I got the multibit upgrade right after it was announced. It's been plugged in and on since last fall. I f'ing love this thing. I have a mind to list it for 1225 to justify not selling it. Sigh. $950. SOLD!

Mjolnir2: love this as well. Largely underrated because it is so simple and so good. It does all the things well. Stock tubes, no lisst. Only owner, ordered when it was announced. I would guess there are maybe 300 hours on it, but can't be sure. Whatever. $650. SOLD!

Whatever you do, don't sell your pogo stick, jetski, parachute, etc as that sort of purchase gets heavily risk assessed now. I sold my Ducati when my first daughter was born and there's no way I will ever be allowed to buy another motorbike.

Thanks all for the well wishes, but fear not! Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I am keeping all my other gear, and plan to step down to the (amazing) lowly modi MB, and a vali or valhalla. @Azteca, non-facetious @jowls, and @jexby have the heart of my motivations:

1) I have already been spending a little less time with full size desktop headphone listening in the last several months; office listening has been with speakers a lot more lately, and when I am home I usually have a portable rig going (typically UERM via GO450 to Leckerton).

2) This is actually our second child, but she was two weeks early and our daycare spot doesn't open until (now) two weeks later than we need it. (FYI: daycare start times are set in f'ing stone). We don't have family in town, and can't convince any family to fly out and watch our kid for free for two weeks. Filling that gap is vital in the short term.

3) In the near longer term I know my listening time will reduce even more. Speakers at work works really well, and UERM dominates travel time and random snips at home. I just can't justify keeping my schiit stack locked up and not getting used enough.

4) This is a community of friends who are trying to experience new, different, better personal audio. I have a fine job, and a happy home. When I was younger, singler, and (somehow, although it feels impossible) poorer, I needed fools with young kids to sell their shit off at decent prices in order to get a taste of the next / different thing. I want someone who is keen to try out one or both of these to get hands on them and be excited about it.

5) Modi MB makes this a fair bit easier for me. To Azteca's earlier point, I am not quitting this, I am stepping back for a bit, and when I have disposable income again in 3 to 20 years, there will be even more and better shit out there. Especially with schiit, they haven't obsoleted any awesome gear unless the replacement is obviously better. If Gungnir Multibit isn't around, the successor will only be better, and that is awesome to look forward to.

OH YEAH! ... sales are pending, thanks for all the PMs with interest, will update tomorrow once I know what is here/gone. Or I will update after the 4 a.m. feeding if I know what's up at that point.

 

that all sounds great man- speakers, killer IEM, and possibly the best bang-for-buck schiit stack ever! thank schiit that the modibit - valhalla/vali stack exists and makes it less/not painful to sell off significantly more expensive schiit. anyway, congrats again on the new kiddo. our kid is now 8 months and every day is so fun and full of surprises. folks like you make this site great.

EDIT: j. christ - daycare costs, wait lists, and start dates are terrifying.
